Lake Oswego Recreation and Aquatics Center (LORAC)
Project Description
LORAC is a multi-use recreation and aquatics space featuring a competition swimming
pool, a recreation pool with a waterslide, gymnasium, workout rooms and parks and
recreation offices. The sprawling recreation and aquatics center is composed of multiple
construction types and materials with the use of seismic joints. The aquatic pool space
is constructed with a PEMB. The locker room space is constructed with CMU walls with
a steel wide flange and metal roof deck. The gymnasium, work out rooms and parks
and recreation offices are constructed with wood walls with a combination of wood
framing types including open web trusses, glue laminated beams, I-joists and
dimensional lumber.
