Bamboo Grove Sphere

Bamboo Grove Sphere is one of numerous projects on which we have collaborated with local artist Ivan McLean. The sphere is made of small pieces of shaped steel rod welded together. An interior steel support ring was used to provide connection points and sphere stability. The sphere is suspended with wire rope attached to three steel columns. The columns were fabricated from short pieces of radiused pipe, with each piece sequentially smaller to create the visual effect of a bamboo stalk.
